For several years, as part of the Great Christmas Charity Action, together with PETRALANA Foundation, we have been helping others for Christmas with joint forces and resources. The PETRALANA Foundation’s activities aim to provide material aid to those who need it most, in line with the principle that this is what Christmas is all about – sharing.
As every year, PETRALANA Foundation organized a meeting with children under the care of community centres in pre-Christmas time. On December 22 and 23, there were visited three of Bytom’s day rooms for children – the “Noah’s Ark” Community Sociotherapeutic Day Room, the Integration Center operating at Primary School no.16 and the Janusz Korczak Integration Center by the Society of Children’s Friends. PETRALANA Foundation gave the youngest Christmas gifts alongside a mountain of sweets.
The Great Christmas Charity Action also includes activities focused on helping those from our neighbourhood. PETRALANA Foundation has given their support in the form of parcels with groceries to families in need, living in the nearest districts of Bytom – Bobrek and Karb. We strongly believe that this form of help allows us to support families in preparing a traditional Christmas Eve dinner, and contributes to spreading the attitude of openness and sensitivity to the needs of the city’s residents.
